Maxine & Edel | Vibrant & Colorful Summer Wedding at Pocono Palms

When you step into a summer wedding that bursts with color and life, it’s an unforgettable experience. That was exactly how I felt at Maxine and Edel’s summer wedding at Pocono Palms – a wedding venue I’d dreamed of shooting at and a place that didn’t disappoint. The venue’s unique architecture, including its cool arches and stylish checkered floors, provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with love and vibrant colors.

Getting Ready for Their Summer Wedding at Pocono Palms

The day started in a lively, colorful room where Maxine and her friends got ready. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. I captured some beautiful moments here, especially a striking portrait of Maxine against a bright pink neon sign that read, "I got you babe." This setting allowed me to use the venue’s colors creatively in my photos.

A First Look to Remember

Their first look was something out of a movie, set right on the dance floor with its eye-catching checkered pattern. It wasn't just about capturing the couple seeing each other for the first time that day; it was about the excitement and anticipation in the air. This was the perfect segue into the rest of their special day.

A Ceremony with a Twist

The ceremony was bright and beautiful, held outdoors under the sun’s warm glow. What made their ceremony unique was how interactive it was. Instead of a traditional wedding party, they had a fun twist: the wedding rings were hidden under a chair, and a guest found them during the ceremony.

This playful moment brought smiles all around and was a definite hit among the guests. As the officiant playfully hinted for everyone to check under their seats, I could feel the excitement build. It added a personal and engaging touch that made capturing the ceremony even more special and unforgettable.

Celebrating with Family and Friends

Taking photos with Maxine and Edel’s family and friends felt just like being part of the party. They decided against having a traditional wedding party, but you could tell from the photos that if they did, it would’ve been huge – Maxine has a ton of friends!

The pictures we got were full of laughter and silly moments, which just goes to show, you don’t need a formal setup to get awesome shots with your friends. It was all about capturing those real, spontaneous smiles and the kind of tight-knit vibes you feel with people who mean the world to you. Everyone was just having a blast, and it definitely shows in every photo.

Golden Hour Romance

Even though the sun wasn't shining as bright as usual, the golden hour at their summer wedding at Pocono Palms still gave us some soft, beautiful light. It really made my photos of Maxine and Edel pop. We hung out near this cute little bridge at the venue, and it was perfect for grabbing those sweet, romantic shots.

The Reception: A Night to Remember

The reception was every bit as breathtaking as the earlier parts of the day. The room was beautifully set up with eye-catching decor and lighting that created a welcoming atmosphere. A highlight for me was when Maxine and Edel had their first dance. It began in a traditional manner but soon everyone was invited to the dance floor, turning it into a vibrant dance party. We captured this lively scene from above, thanks to my second shooter who got a great angle from the loft. It’s one of the standout photos from the day!

As the evening continued, there was a light-hearted moment during the speeches that really stood out. A good friend acknowledged Edel’s service as a Marine by playfully awarding him and Maxine with medals. This unexpected gesture brought a lot of laughter and added a unique personal touch that made the speeches even more memorable.

As the night progressed, the party really picked up. The energy was incredible, and these turned out to be some of my favorite party pictures ever. Everyone was having a blast, dancing and celebrating wildly—it was the perfect way to cap off such a fantastic day.

Maxine and Edel's wedding at Pocono Palms was a dream assignment for me. The venue's breathtaking aesthetics and the unique, colorful moments that filled the day truly reflected their vibrant personalities. Every detail – from the spontaneous ring-finding ceremony to the inclusive first dance – made their wedding a heartfelt celebration of their love. I left feeling incredibly grateful for the opportunity to document such a joyful day and am super excited to capture more summer weddings at Pocono Palms!
